About Afrovenator
Afrovenator was a meat-eating theropod that lived in the Middle Jurassic to Early Cretaceous, 171 to 143 million years ago. It belongs to the family Megalosauridae.
The Paleobiology Database lists 2 finds of Afrovenator, from Niger. Its fossils come from rocks including the Irhazer II Formation and the Tiourarén Formation. It was named by Sereno et al. in 1994.
