Omeisaurus was a plant-eating sauropod that lived in the Middle Jurassic to Early Cretaceous, 171 to 143 million years ago. It belongs to the family Mamenchisauridae.
The Paleobiology Database lists 10 finds of Omeisaurus, from China. Its fossils come from the Shaximiao Formation. It was named by Young in 1939.
