17 kinds of dinosaur have been found in Australia, from 43 recorded finds in the Paleobiology Database. The best known are Muttaburrasaurus, Leaellynasaura and Kunbarrasaurus.

Most of the fossils come from the Winton Formation, the Eumeralla Formation, the "Wonthaggi" Formation, the Allaru Mudstone Formation and the Griman Creek Formation.
