17 kinds of dinosaur have been found in Germany, from 47 recorded finds in the Paleobiology Database. The best known are Iguanodon, Compsognathus and Plateosaurus.
Most of the fossils come from the Löwenstein Formation, the Trossingen Formation, the Bückeberg Formation, the Painten Formation and the Süntel Formation.
