About Dicraeosaurus
Dicraeosaurus was a plant-eating sauropod that lived in the Late Jurassic to Early Cretaceous, 152 to 143 million years ago. It belongs to the family Dicraeosauridae.
The Paleobiology Database lists 19 finds of Dicraeosaurus, from Tanzania. One find has also been reported from Zimbabwe. Its fossils come from rocks including the Tendaguru Formation and the Kadzi Formation. It was named by Janensch in 1914.
