Hesperosaurus was a plant-eating stegosaur that lived in the Late Jurassic to Early Cretaceous, 158 to 143 million years ago. It belongs to the family Stegosauridae.
The Paleobiology Database lists 8 finds of Hesperosaurus, from Wyoming and Montana. Its fossils come from the Morrison Formation. It was named by Carpenter et al. in 2001.
