About Pinacosaurus
Pinacosaurus was a plant-eating ankylosaur that lived in the Late Cretaceous, 86 to 72 million years ago. It belongs to the family Ankylosauridae.
The Paleobiology Database lists 22 finds of Pinacosaurus, from Mongolia and China. Its fossils come from rocks including the Djadokhta Formation, the Bayan Mandahu Formation and the Baruungoyot Formation. It was named by Gilmore in 1933.
