About Monoclonius
Monoclonius was a plant-eating ceratopsian that lived in the Late Cretaceous, 84 to 72 million years ago. It belongs to the family Ceratopsidae.
The Paleobiology Database lists 10 finds of Monoclonius, from Alberta, Montana and New Mexico. Its fossils come from rocks including the Oldman Formation, the Judith River Formation and the Kirtland Formation. It was named by Cope in 1876.
